It is impossible to prevent access to your IP address one hundred percent. Even the most advanced hackers and the most secret intelligence services fail. But if an ordinary user has nothing to hide, then it is quite possible to competently defend against random attacks.

Step 1
If you are working on a local network, configure the proxy server so that your computer can access external resources only through it. External users wishing to access your IP address will only "see" the proxy server. However, in order to protect yourself from enemies working with you on the same network, you will have to resort to other methods.
Step 2
Restrict and access from the local network to the outside. Block visits to certain sites. Install a phishing filter. Get an anti-virus program and a powerful Firewall.
Step 3
Install protection against Java scripts by restricting their access to certain features of your browser. One of the safest options is to completely disable active scripts. But, working on the Internet, you cannot protect yourself from the Java language itself, and not only scripts, since it has a huge number of network functions. Meanwhile, Java programs can figure out your IP address without any problem.
Step 4
Disable ActiveX, and automatic installation of plugins. Always check plugins before updating them. Buy a juicer program, do not download it for free from unknown sites. Otherwise, all your defenses will work against you. Before each session, check the proxy server against black lists (RBL) so that your real IP address is not identified.
Step 5
If you connect directly to the network, clear your cookies regularly, or better disallow them. This will help protect the IP address and optimize the browser performance. However, this can complicate work with sites that require a username and password to work with (and there are many of them). If you use ICQ, check the box in the settings that prohibits showing the IP address. Regularly refer to the official website of the manufacturer of the OS that is installed on your computer and download patches. You will no doubt need antivirus and Firewall too.
