Registering on a Joomla site can come in handy for many useful purposes. For example, to protect the site from spam, to obtain additional information about a particular user, etc. However, such a seemingly simple task as creating a registration system can lead novice webmasters to a dead end.
Instructions
Step 1
First you have to create a Joomla user registration / login module. To do this, go to the "Extensions" section, then to the "Module Manager". At the top right side, find the "Create" button. Click on it, after which a list of basic modules will appear, of which there are quite a large number. However, they will not be enough for a full-fledged website.
Step 2
Select the "Login" module. Give the module a title, then customize its display. You can leave the display or hide. It is still recommended to leave it enabled so that users do not get confused and so that the meaning of this password and login form is clearer. Next, enable the module, select its location and configure access.
Step 3
Then go to the right side to the module settings. Connect the module class suffix or leave blank. Enter the text to be shown in front of the login form and the text after the login form. Next, select the address to which the user will be redirected when entering or exiting the site. If you want, you can customize the greeting that will be displayed after users are authorized. Do not forget to choose how the user's "nickname" is displayed. It can be displayed as a login, or as a surname / first name.
Step 4
The login / registration module has now been created. Click the Save button. Go to your own site and try registering as a new user. This will test the functionality of the module. In addition to the registration and authorization form, the module will contain links to recover a password or login. All fields with an asterisk are required. The user must provide all the required data. After that, he will be able to use the site.
