FPS (Frames Per Second) is a value that is directly related to the performance of a computer's video card. As a rule, it is because of it that games can slow down, freeze, etc. FPS is measured in the number of frames per second. The lower the indicator, the more the application slows down. So how do you increase FPS in games?
First of all, check and update the video card drivers. You can use two methods. Either go to the website of the manufacturer of the required video card and download the latest drivers, or install a special program that will automatically find and update outdated drivers. In the latter case, not only the video card will be updated, but also other components of the computer.
How to increase FPS with NVIDIA
If you have NVIDIA, you can increase FPS in CS: GO, Batman: Arkham Knight and other games by setting this video card. To do this, right-click on the desktop and left-click on the NVIDIA Control Panel.
In the window that opens, find the "3D parameters control" tab. Disable the following options:
- anisotropic filtration;
- vertical sync (V-Sync);
- scalable textures;
- restriction of expansion;
- triple buffering;
- smoothing.
In addition to the listed parameters, there will be configurations in the window that will help increase the FPS if you enable them. It's about filtering textures. They are divided into several parts:
- anisotropic optimization;
- quality;
- negative deviation of UD;
- three-line optimization.
All of these options must be enabled or configured for "best performance". The order of the specified settings may vary depending on the computer model, video card, operating system.
Other ways to increase FPS in games
The low FPS in the game may also be because the system requirements of the application are much higher than the device can handle. To do this, it is recommended to go to the settings section in the game itself and reduce the parameters.
If you want to increase FPS in a multiplayer game (CS GO, WoW), measure the speed of your Internet connection. If it is lower than the application requires, the picture will slow down.
