Instructions
Step 1
Search the Internet and download the clothing files for your version of the Sims game. There are many specialized sites and forums on the network where Sims fans share their creativity, laying out all kinds of additions in the public domain: furniture, plants, new characters and clothes.
Step 2
Make sure that the things you like are installed in your version of the program. As a rule, the description for the file with the addition to the Sims indicates the version of the game and possible additional requirements. There are currently three generations of this PC game: The Sims, The Sims 2, and The Sims 3. In addition, you may need special official add-ons for certain types of clothing. For example, if you want to expand your range of fall jackets and down jackets, you need the Sims 3 Seasons Expansion Pack.
Step 3
Open the My Documents folder on drive C. Find and open the Electronic ArtsThe Sims folder, which is automatically created when you install the game. At the top of the window, select the "New" item in the file menu, and then click on the "Folder" line. Name the new folder Downloads. You will put the downloaded clothing files into it.
Step 4
Additional items for the Sims game are usually downloaded zipped. Extract the files from the archive and place them in the Downloads folder. Start the game. All updates must be available. If you've added new clothes, they should appear in your PCs' wardrobes and dressers.
Step 5
It is convenient to unpack archives containing tens or hundreds of files using the special TS Install Helper Monkey program. It can also be downloaded from the game's fan sites. Install the program on the C drive, but not in the Sims folder.
Step 6
Run TS Install Helper Monkey and follow the further instructions to install. Find any downloaded Sims clothing file and right-click on it. In the menu that appears, select the Install to Sims line. The files will be unpacked to the Downloads folder and will be available the next time you start the game.
