A more convenient solution is to place the file somewhere on the Internet using one of the file storage services.

Step 1
First, you need to find a file storage service that suits you. These services differ in terms of storage time, file download conditions and availability from different parts of the world - there are other differences, but these are the most significant. The storage time can be from two weeks (for example, iFolder) to infinity (Rapidshare). But it is imperative that you familiarize yourself with the terms of a particular service - the same iFolder, limiting the storage period to two weeks by default, makes it possible to extend it. And Rapidshare, without any time limit, will nevertheless delete the file if no one accesses it for a long time. The main difference in terms of downloading is that some of these services may require payment for downloading your file. And some of them may share part of the payment for each download with you. Other services are free, but require viewing sponsor ads before downloading, or simply waiting in line for some time. In addition, free downloads in most cases have a limited speed and a limited number of files per day.

After choosing a storage service, the purely technical part of the operation will remain in several steps. To get started, go to the service site, for example

This service does not require registration to upload your file, you can right on the main page click the button (or input field) under the inscription "Upload file". A dialog box will open in which you need to find the file prepared for download and click the "Open" button. The name of your file and a red cross next to it will appear in the input field - if you change your mind, you can remove this file from the download queue by clicking this cross. In addition, another one will appear below this field - this is in case you need to upload more than one file.
Step 4
When you are finished with the queue of files, click on the "Upload" text. The file (or files) will be uploaded to the server and you will be presented with a report on which files and what size were uploaded. Here you will also have the opportunity to enter a text description of this file and attach a cover picture to it. In addition, here you can set a password - in this case, only those who enter this password on the download page on the service website will be able to download the file. On the same page, you need to enter your email address, and the captcha code, and then click the "confirm" inscription.
Step 5
On the next page, you will receive confirmation of the completion of the operation, a link to manage the downloaded file and a link to download it, which you can post anywhere on the network or send to those who need it.
