To open Internet pages, you need to use the appropriate browser. The browser opens and displays Internet pages. Internet Explorer is installed on any version of Windows. But many internet users install additional browsers. For example, Opera is one of the most popular browsers. Although browsers differ in interface and functionality, the principle of operation is the same.
Necessary
Computer, Internet Explorer browser, Internet access
Instructions
Step 1
Very often, when you open a browser, the Internet home page opens automatically. And not necessarily the one you chose. This can be an advertising page that was integrated into the browser when installing a program. Such pages usually get in the way, because before you start visiting and opening other Internet pages, the home page should be deleted (unless, of course, you yourself have not defined the site you want as your Internet home page).
Step 2
To do this, click "Start" and go to the "Control Panel" tab. Then select the line "Internet Options". Select the General tab. The topmost line will be labeled as "Home Page". Below the line is a window with the address of the current home page. Select this address with the mouse and delete it. Or click under this window on the "Blank" tab. Then select the "Apply" item (at the very bottom of the window). Then click OK.
Step 3
Now you can open web pages without unnecessary interference. To do this, click "Start", go to the "All Programs" tab and select the Internet Explorer program. When the program is loaded, it will display a blank window. Pay attention to the top two lines. If you already have the address of the Internet page you need, just enter it in the left line. Then click on the arrow next to the line. The web page will open in an Internet Explorer window.
Step 4
If you do not have a specific page address, but you are looking for web pages with a specific topic, enter a request for the necessary information in the right line (for example, "fishing" or the name of a city or hotel). Click on the icon to the right of the window (usually in the shape of a magnifying glass). The browser will search for pages with the information you need. The pages will be displayed in a list in the Internet Explorer window. Select the desired page from the list of pages, and it will open completely in the Internet Explorer window.
