There are situations when it is necessary to restrict access to the Internet, but not entirely, but only to one site. For example, if your child spends a lot of time chatting or social networking. There are a lot of such methods, but in one way or another they all come down to just a few procedures.
Instructions
Step 1
First, you need to find out the IP address of the site to which you plan to block access. This is a necessary procedure. Each site usually has its own IP address. In this case, it is correct to talk about the IP address of the host.
Step 2
Open any site that allows you to find out the IP address of the site. For example, you can use the services provided by the sites https://prime-speed.ru or https://2ip.ru. Just enter the site address in the search bar without http and triple w. For example, "kakprosto.ru". Click the Check button. In response, you will receive the host IP address "188.120.238.77". Copy it into your notebook or write it down separately on a piece of paper.
Step 3
If your operating system is Windows XP, click the Start button located in the lower left corner of your screen. A menu will unfold in front of you. Find the item "Run" and click on it once with the left mouse button. In the window that opens, in a special line, enter "notepad c: / windows / system32 / drivers / etc / hosts" and click "OK".
Step 4
Is your computer or laptop running Windows 7 or Windows Vista? Click the "Start" button, which in these operating systems is shaped like a round Windows logo button in the lower left corner of the screen. Select "Find" as a string for text. Type in it "notepad c: / windows / system32 / drivers / etc / hosts".
Step 5
You can also find this file yourself at "windows / system32 / drivers / etc" and open it yourself with notepad.
Step 6
At the very end of the file, add the lines "127.0.0.1" put a space "kakprosto.ru" and "127.0.0.1" a space "188.120.238.77". Save your changes to the file. If you did not have this file, then running the command "notepad c: / windows / system32 / drivers / etc / hosts" will create it. The second line will prevent access to the site by directly entering the IP address.
Step 7
Now no browser can open this site. First, the operating system will check for the presence of the hosts file, then the presence of this address in the hosts file, then it will reset the call to this site, deciding that this is a local address. As a result, you will see information on the screen of your computer that "The connection was lost."
