Download Master is a popular internet download manager from domestic developer Westbyte. With Download Master, you can download files from direct links, pause downloads, schedule downloads and manage traffic consumption. The latter can lead to a loss in download speed.

Step 1
If you observe that Download Master began downloading files via direct links slower than usual, you need to determine the reason for the drop in speed. You may have set a non-maximum speed setting so that you can load web pages in the browser without delay during previous downloads, and forgot to set the maximum speed setting back. To set the maximum speed, right-click on the Download Master icon in the clock tray. The icon has the shape of an animated arrow during upload and during the fist holding the arrow head down during the background when the program is not in use. In the context menu, select the "Speed" item by hovering over it with the mouse, and in the submenu that appears, click on the "Maximum" item. The same operation can be done by launching the main program window and holding down the "Shift + Ctrl + H" key combination on the keyboard.
Step 2
If the download speed is still lower than usual, in the main window of the program, select the menu item "Tools" - "Options". In the window that appears, select the "Connection" section in the left menu, then set the connection speed. Select the appropriate speed from the drop-down menu and set the switch to the "Maximum" position.
Step 3
The file may download slowly if Download Master downloads multiple files at the same time. In this case, pause the downloads, in the main window of the program, click on the icon in the form of an arrow pointing down, with the inscription "Simultaneously", and set option 1 in the drop-down menu. After that, run the file that you are going to download to your computer again.
Step 4
Also, the traffic of the Internet connection can be consumed by another program, for example, a Torrent client, an online game, a Windows update, which causes a slowdown in the download speed. Close all programs using your internet connection to speed up the file download.
