The creation of a local network allows you to link a group of stationary computers and peripheral devices into a single working scheme. To provide synchronous access to the Internet, you need to correctly select the parameters of the network cards of all computers.
It is necessary
- - Network cable;
- - network adapter.
Instructions
Step 1
If you have the opportunity to use a stationary computer as a server, then do not purchase expensive routers and routers. To create a minimal network of two computers, you need a total of three network adapters. Connect the new network card to the server computer.
Step 2
Connect two computers together. For this, a cross over network cable must be used. It is worth noting that modern network cards automatically determine the location of the cores in the cable. This allows you to use almost any LAN connector.
Step 3
Connect the provider's cable to a free network adapter on your computer. Turn on both PCs and wait for the operating systems to load. Start configuring the server computer. Create and configure a new internet connection. Check if it works.
Step 4
Open the properties of the network card that is connected to another computer. Select TCP / IP (v4) options. Activate the use of a permanent IP address and enter its value. Avoid boilerplate IPs like 192.168.0.1.
Step 5
Go to internet connection properties. Open the "Access" tab. Activate sharing with other users by specifying the desired local network.
Step 6
Start setting up a second computer. Select the required network card, if there are several. Open the properties of the TCP / IP (v4) protocol. Enable the use of permanent IP address function. Specify its value, which will differ from the IP of another PC by the last segment.
Step 7
Fill in the "Preferred DNS Server" and "Default Gateway" fields. To do this, enter the IP address of the desired network card of the first computer into them. Save the settings. Reboot both computers and check if the network is working properly.
