SEO (from English Search Engine Optimization) is the process of optimizing the work of search engines, the main goal of which is to promote a site to the first positions in the issuance of search engine results for certain queries.
Instructions
Step 1
A huge amount of information is concentrated on the Internet, presented on a variety of resources. To facilitate the tasks of finding the necessary content, special search engines work, such as Yandex, Google or Yahoo !. They collect information about sites and their content, systematize it and direct the user requesting a certain combination of words to the resource where this request is found in the most optimal variant, and the content of the text content most closely matches the text of the request.
Step 2
Initially, the search engines worked completely independently, without the participation of the editors of information resources themselves. The search robot studied all the content of the page visible to the user, determined the necessary patterns in the text, such as the most common words and their combinations. Based on this data, search indexing tables were compiled, which the system accessed with each user request, determined the most suitable result and displayed a list of several thousand results on the search page, while first of all, the results that most closely match the user's entered query were displayed.
Step 3
This information processing scheme is preserved to this day, but the owners of resources who are directly interested in the search engine redirecting the user to their site, and competing resources were visited last in the search engine optimization work. On the one hand, this tendency greatly simplified the work of search robots, since they began to be offered a pre-prepared list of queries by which the user could find the necessary content contained on a particular page. However, in the struggle for the first positions in the search results, the relevance of information was lost, since the most optimized texts were not always the most informative, useful and easy to read. This was the impetus for the constant improvement of search engines and an increase in their so-called intelligence. At the same time, SEO professionals have redoubled their efforts in content optimization, dividing it into two main types.
Step 4
Internal website optimization is the structuring of content and its processing within one Internet resource. Its main task is to facilitate the work of search robots, for which the keywords found in the text are used in certain proportions to the rest of the text, placed in a certain place in the text array and are as relevant as possible to the content of the article. In the array of keywords used for the entire site as a whole, a clear relationship began to be traced, forming a semantic core. There is also a tendency to make articles referring to each other in the same thematic category, which improves the user experience when working with a particular web resource.
Step 5
External website optimization refers to actions aimed at increasing the number and credibility of other resources that link to the optimized website through links, press releases or registration in directories. External optimization is considered to be the most complex and versatile tool for promotion, since it is necessary to constantly monitor not only the parameters of your own resource, but also assess the parameters of other sites that are entrusted with redirecting traffic to the site being optimized.
